"Ar Aghaidh Linn Le Chéile"
Ag obair sa ghairdín le Niamh agus Ian

Bhí tús álainn gníomhach leis an lá scoile (Luain 7ú Samhain) agus páistí ó ranganna éagsúla ag obair sa ghairdín scoile le tacaíocht ó Niamh agus Ian ón gComhairle Oidhreachta Náisiúnta.  Bhí tuismitheoir Emer anseo linn freisin ag cabhrú agus ag tacú.  Bhíodar ag comhaireamh péisteanna, ag déanamh tástáil ar an ithir, ag tógáil muiríne, ag cur gairleoige is oiniúin agus ag foghlaim faoi chuile ghné den gharradóireacht is an cúram a bhaineann leis an timpeallacht.  Grianghraif ón lá álainn seo le feiceáil anseo.

Lean an obair ar aghaidh inniu (an Mháirt 8/11/16) ach sa seomra ranga don chuid is mó (de bharr droch aimsir) áit a raibh páistí na scoile gníomhach ag cur le chéile plean nua do ghairdín is timpeallacht na scoile.  Coinnigí súil amach don obair leanúnach a bhéas ag dul ar aghaidh.

Tá muid thar a bheith buíoch do Ian, Niamh agus Emer as a gcúram, aire, díograis is cineáltas.

It was a glorious and busy start to the day (Monday 7th November) with Niamh and Ian from The National Heritage Council who worked with the children in Gairdín Lena.  Tuismitheoir and keen gardener Emer was also on site to lend a helping hand.  Everyone was busy as bees counting worms, planting garlic and onion, clearing beds, creating compost and learning all about the in-and-outs of gardening and biodiversity.  It was a fun time and photographs from the days work can be viewed here.

The superb work continued today (Tuesday 8th November 2016) but mostly indoors (due to bad weather) where the children planned further work to be carried out in Gairdín Lena and the school grounds.  Keep posted for further success stories.  We are extremely thankful to Ian, Niamh and Emer for their interest, dedication, care and enthusiasm.
